Bergan E. Schumacher

Bergan graduated from the University of Nebraska – Kearney with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and received her juris doctorate from the University of Nebraska College of Law with a concentration on litigation.

Bergan practices a variety of litigation but primarily practices family law assisting her clients with custody, divorce, adoption, guardianships, and child support issues. She also devotes a great deal of time to her personal injury and criminal defense practice, representing those who have been charged with both misdemeanors and felonies.

Bergan has secured victories for her clients in county and district courts throughout the state of Nebraska. She has also successfully argued in front of the Nebraska Court of Appeals.

Bergan volunteers her time by serving on various boards and committees locally and throughout the state of Nebraska. She serves on the Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers Section of Nebraska State Bar Association, was elected as the Chair for class #28 of Leadership Kearney, and is an adviser for the UNK Alpha Phi chapter. Bergan is a also a contributing author of the ​Nebraska State Bar Association Family Law Practice Manual.
